Hey guys, hey @DarkForestCapital / @verto0912,
I think it’s a very good step forward to formalize the role, responsibilities & compensation of community methodologists.
There are 2 side notes that I wanted to share :
- We should probably consider the case where the community methodologist is actually a community inside the community, as could be the case - for disclosure - if a new index is proposed by Monportefeuille.digital DAO, of which I am the creator and representative in the Coop.
We’re a very small organization, but some of our members have already done or are doing some work to put a brand new methodology together : I could easily see the list of tasks described above being split across our organization. How do we incorporate a DAO in this framework : does it become a partner or an employee of the Coop ? How do we compensate the work done by the DAO : on the same basis as an individual ?
- One additional task that I think could make sense adding to the scope of this role is the support of aspiring community methodologists. This could take the form of a mentoring scheme along the whole Product Onboarding Process for example.
This way, a community member who has already successfully launched a product with the Coop could be incentivized and officially recognized for sharing his knowledge & experience. This in turn would be hugely beneficial for newer members - who could be tempted to submit a new methodology but at the same time need support with a variety of specific tasks.
Cheers
Julien
