Simple Summary

This IIP requests authorization for Index Coop to delegate all of DPI’s Aave voting rights to an External Owned Account (EOA). This is intended to be for the sole purpose of submitting an AIP and for voting on listing DPI as a collateral asset on Aave V2.

Abstract

All Aave voting rights are to be delegated to the following address:

0x7f4C5938AF9731e9feadc09C3FA782508198532E

By delegating to an EOA address @ncitron will be able to progress DPI towards being listed on Aave V2. The submission must be performed from an EOA address and can not be performed from a multisig address.

Upon the voting window for DPI being listed on V2, the voting delegation power will revert back to its current configuration which is the standard multi-sig wallet for all DPI assets.

Motivation

Even more important than the ability to vote, is the ability to put forward proposals on Aave. Proposals can only be put forward by an EOA address. Thus the need for the DPI Aave holding proposal power to be delegated to an EOA address.

In order to submit an AIP, a minimum number of votes is needed to meet the proposal power requirement for creating and sustaining a proposal. To have DPI listed on Aave, we need 80,000 votes, link here to meet the proposal power requirement.

As of block 12960652 (Aug-04-2021 07:56:36 PM UTC), the DPI holds $30.8M worth of AAVE or 92,702.18250129 votes.

Specification

DPI multi-sig wallet delegates the Aave voting power to an ethereum address: 0x7f4C5938AF9731e9feadc09C3FA782508198532E which is then to be used for submitting the DPI proposal and moving DPI forward to a vote!
