I agree with all points above and I think it’s a great proposal. Having a group dedicated to producing valuable insights and research makes a lot of sense.
One point to think about, however, is the proposed organisational approach. Currently this has a notion of exclusivity. What’s missing in my view, are the contributions from the community. I like the idea from the GWG proposal, that one role of the committee is to function as a funnel for ideas, or a proxy for publications, responsible for coordination and prioritizations of contributions.
As pointed out by @Thomas_Hepner, I also think that methodologists should be welcomed to contribute to this. They have a lot of valuable knowledge and insight, plus it’s part of their role description. Therefore, a meaningful co-working environment should be the goal.
