Index Coop: 415,000 Votes of Confidence
@shawn16400 summarized the recent $INDEX delegation from two core investors, 1kx and Set Labs, to members of the Index Coop Council. Following up on the open letter published to the forum in April, the two proposed a delegation of their total of 415,000 INDEX to Councilmembers with the goal of “expanding the set of participants who have a meaningful impact on governance.”
On May 10, votes were officially delegated, with 75k each to @anthonyb.eth, @catjam, @0x_Dev, and @edwardk and 115k to @afromac. The Council has agreed to vote as a block.
This delegation will have massive effects, given that segments of past votes are part of the delegation passed over to the ICC and the fact that 415k $INDEX is enough to change the outcome of 6 of the last 8 IIPs. Additionally, expect even more pronounced effects on metagov, considering that 415k INDEX alone could meet quorum if used. Index Coop could save costs and process time by eliminating the Metagovernance Committee as a result. Check out the whole article.

Season 2 Planning
@catjam and @Pepperoni_Joe are leading the charge for Season 1 → Season 2 transition, which starts officially on August 1. Some line updates:
- Off-season: The proposal process has been made easier and as a result, we’re not taking a collective break. Business as usual in the month of July.
- Budget: Deep budget cuts not expected. ICC will provide Nest Leads with a specific budget to work from in rather than the nest proposing a budget. @anthonyb.eth is leading w consult from F.Nest.
- Org. Structure: We’re getting Nests with broad responsibility to reduce silos and manage budgets more effectively. This means Community, Governance, and Finance.
- Other goals: Clear definition of roles. Clear planning process usable in future seasons.
