With a number of 
prepping to give thanks, Wednesday was a quiet yet sneaky busy day at the Coop. @Miza made his controversial feelings about pumpkin pie be known to the group as BD sat one out (Spoiler: he’s not a fan). Leadership Forum provided a rundown on the specifics of the Wise Owl/Index Council elections. The Coop head an informal leadership discussion and workshop focused on Web3. While EWG finished the day with a big reveal of a project the team created during an in-house hackathon.
Thursday (or late Wednesday in NA) kicks off with APWG Tea Time. Gov Ops WG follows their lead on turkey day, with the MGC election results still to be tabulated. No Women + NB of Index WG this week, but the bi-weekly meeting of the GMWG will run a strong anchor leg.

All Gold (4x), Silver (2x) and Bronze (1x) Owls will be eligible to vote in this election. We are using a system of voting known as Single Transferable Vote will be used. Read more here or watch a video that describes how it works.
@0xMitz, @catjam, and @bradwmorris then fostered break-out rooms discussions and shared thoughts with the larger group about leadership topics. Frank and open exchanges were had around examples of leadership working well and not going well; differences and similarities in leadership between web2 and web3; characteristics of great leaders.
Do You $HOOTL?
Engineering WG | Office Hours // Show & Tell (9 attendees)
The EWG recently held an internal hackathon to move forward and explore different chains beyond mainnet.
Looking to benefit the current and future needs of the engineering team, @edwardk @ncitron and @0xModene explained how they developed a testing ground at coop.tax (proceed with caution). It’s a playground for the core team, contributors, and those in the Wizardy program to test in production and to get real users to test the things they’re building.
What they came up with is a composite index on Polygon called the $HOOT Index. The composition of the $HOOT INDEX is determined by those with Bronze, Silver, and Gold Owl status/NFTs. Each week, Owls vote on available tokens on Polygon that they believe should be a part of the $HOOT Index. Gold Owls receive 100 votes, Silver 75, and Bronze 50. $HOOT is the ticker and not involved in the voting process.
CAUTION POTENTIAL RUG ALERT - This is very much an experiment, so proceed with caution.
@edwardk explained that testing is hard on blockchain. So this experiment gives the engineering team a way to simulate a real environment in a low-stakes way. Wizards will be able to improve their skills and see the actual fruits of their labor on chain. The plan is to keep updating this and take it to other chains.
